Our backyard is officially a certified wildlife habitat, based on the information I provided. We get a sign to post in our yard in about 4 weeks.
Wonderful!!
I think I might go biking after school to meet Matt 1/2 way home from work.Hopefully the wild bunnies will be out, as well as the birds. I’ll take my camera.

My temporary crowns just came out. Ouch. And I cannot get in until tomorrow.

I think my bike ride yesterday wore me out. That is okay, though. My body needs to be challenged! I was so sleepy and tired last night that I didn’t have the energy to eat the wonderful salmon and goat cheese tart that Matt had made-plus a fresh berry tart-let that he also put together. I could tell he was sad that I didn’t eat it; I explained that it wasn’t his cooking. It was my body shutting down from exhaustion.
Theo was at his dad’s this past weekend, working at GreenLake and helping get the house together since Mica moved in last week. I like her. She loves Theo, is kind, and embraces the concept of extended family and how important that is.
Off to do a 5 mile jog and study.

market!

The animals woke us at 6 am (ugh!) and we were out of the house by 9am, biking 10-ish miles to the farmers market in West Seattle. I am making an effort to shop locally as much as possible, and not use my car if it is possible to bike somewhere. I LOVE going to the farmers market; the people there are nice to talk to, the energy is contagious, there is live music whilst shopping, and where else can you get fresh, raw milk that was just milked from a cow 4 hours ago? I know the food is a little more expensive, but I think it’s worth the money to support local farmers and get such fresh, awesome food. I will be making a homemade low-fat berry cheesecake with the 3 kinds of fresh berries I bought today. What a deal: 3 pints of blueberries, raspberries, and boysenberries for $8.00! We also purchased fresh apple/raspberry cider.
The bike ride there was hard, because it mostly up hill. I kept repeating “you can do it!” under my breath as I slowly pedaled up the windy hills, relishing the thought that the ride home would be all down hill.
Matthew is busy building an outdoor rabbit hutch with recycled materials, for our mini lop bunny that we rescued this past Spring. People in Seattle dump rabbits in public parks instead of taking them to the humane society when they no longer want them. Evil.
Our yard is getting to the point that I think we can qualify for this: .I’m going to look into that. I mean, we get many visitors: At least 8 different kinds of birds and their babies, bees, butterflies, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and other various creatures. We also have never used pesticides and use earth friendly pest products like ladybugs to fight things like unwanted aphids. We also compost EVERYTHING from our kitchen.
I am off to study Chemistry.

SO much to do before we leave for Denmark and Amsterdam on the 24th!! The Bunny has an appointment at the vets; Nitro has another appointment on Friday because his infection hasn’t cleared up; I have a CPR class to take next Wednesday evening; I have the 2nd round of dental appointments on the 13th to get the crowns finished, because right now I have temporary ones in place; I have an appointment next Friday to see a new doctor and get updated shots for nursing school. Did I miss anything?
And I am so tired lately. I fall asleep reading my books. I lay down on the couch for 20 minutes and it turns into an hour. I blame my cuddly dogs; they are so warm!
I am having bad dreams at night, mostly about things from the past. I don’t give time to these things during the day, so they tend to creep up at night and invade my subconscious. I wish I were the sort that didn’t remember her dreams.
